The ITiE Symposium 08
Where Technology Meets Education

Research has proven that interactive technology in the classroom engages and inspires both teacher and student resulting in higher standards of education for our children. The big questions now are – How do we provide personalised learning for all students? How do we continue to drive increased achievement? What can we do to aid teachers’ professional development? What works – and what doesn’t? Can we predict what the future holds for tomorrow’s global citizens and, if so, are we equipping our classrooms with the necessary technology to best prepare them?

The ITiE Symposium 08 continues in the same vein as last year’s highly successful event but focuses in greater depth on the issues that are currently affecting the educational environment globally.

Bringing together luminaries and leading educationalists from around the world, the event combines British and international experience and research to present and discuss key issues and developments in interactive technology for education.

The Symposium is a prestigious two day event in the heart of London, offering the opportunity to listen to and participate in discussion of a range of vital education issues. Interactive technology is built into the Symposium – you will be able to use the same technology for education that is influencing over 10 million children worldwide. And we’ll also be offering the chance to visit both primary and secondary schools where you can experience the technology being used by the experts – the teachers and students.

The event begins by examining how we can incorporate personalised learning into the current curriculum and if it is indeed possible or should we be transforming the entire educational experience? It continues by explaining how we can use technology for professional development, detailing implementation on both small and large scales and concludes with an address from a leading Minister of Education. With a glittering gala dinner featuring inspirational speeches from two of education’s most prolific influencers, the opening day of this year’s symposium is set to further underline the event’s position and the educational event of the year.

Day 2 brings the opportunity to experience first-hand the effect interactive technology is having on the classroom by visiting schools and witnessing lessons. Followed by an overview of relevant research conducted throughout the year and further examples of interactive technology in school districts and success stories from the UK, the event is brought to a close with feedback and discussions on how we can take lessons learnt into our classrooms and successfully implement them.

With an evening drinks reception and networking opportunity preceding a spectacular menu of leisure options for all our guests, the ITiE Symposium 2008 is an event not to be missed!
